It is an interesting place where one can see prominent figures including statesmen, actors, nobles. It is in the basement and scarcely lit — so some people may find it scary: you are underground, it is kind of dark, and from the darkness people who have been dead for many years are watching you as if they were alive…
The gallery mainly represents those who had a connection to Odessa in one way or another: de Ribas, Vorontsov, Langeron, Pushkin, Catherine the 2nd and others.
The museum was opened in 1998.
